Pediatric Inpatient Care
Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children’s pediatric inpatient care is unmatched in the region. We are a 38-bed nursing unit staffed with PALS-certified (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) clinical employees dedicated to providing high-quality, family-centered care. Many of our pediatric physicians are fellowship trained and/or board certified in their respective pediatric subspecialties, and many practice exclusively in our facility. Our interdisciplinary clinicians understand infants, children and adolescents have distinctive developmental and psychosocial needs and seek to provide personalized care while accounting for the needs of each patient and family.
Family Centered Care
Our Pediatrics floor clinical staff encourages family-centered care. We recognize that family members are experts on their child and need to be an integral part of their child’s care team. We welcome parents and other family members to play an active role in the treatment process, and we value both your input and contributions to your child’s care.
Pediatric Hospitalists
On our Pediatrics floor, your child’s care will be managed by our pediatric hospitalist team which includes both physicians and advanced practice nurses. This interdisciplinary team is specially trained to provide excellence in pediatric hospital medicine. Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children has a pediatric hospitalist in house 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The hospitalist team will communicate and coordinate with you and your child’s primary care provider while your child is a patient in our hospital and throughout preparation for your child to go home.
