Our team of labor and delivery nurses, nurse practitioners and board certified obstetricians are available 24/7 to provide care at any stage of pregnancy in a dedicated 10-bed unit located next to the Labor & Delivery Unit on the 2nd floor.
The Obstetric Emergency Department treats walk-ins, patients arriving by ambulance and those referred by an obstetrician for conditions including:
- severe nausea
- vaginal bleeding
- lower back pain
- early contractions
- other pregnancy-related complications
Women should talk with their OB-GYN early in their pregnancy about what to do in the event of an emergency.
